NOTICE ABOUT INCLINED SLEEPERS

April 5, 2019

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a statement that babies should no longer be left in inclined sleepers once they are 3 months or older, or can roll over on their own. Inclined sleepers can increase the chances of suffocation and airway compression, both of which can and have lead to death. At least 50 infant deaths while using the Fisher-Price Rock n' Play Sleeper have been recorded.

NEW CAR SEAT LAW TAKES EFFECT IN ILLINOIS 

January 1, 2019

Illinois law has been amended to state that children are required to ride in rear-facing car seats until they are at least 2 years old, weigh over 40 pounds, and/or are over 40 inches tall. It is recommended that parents keep their children rear-facing as long as possible. The law continues to require the use of a child restraint system appropriate for age and size for children under 8 years old. Violators will face fines.
