How do I sign up for a car seat inspection?
Please email carseats@luriechildrens.org to sign up for an inspection. Inspections can be done virtually or in-person and are typically scheduled on Fridays.
Where else in the Chicago area can I get my child’s car seat inspected?
The Chicago Fire Department’s Public Education Unit inspects car seats at their unit two days per week. Call 312-747-1699 for more information. You can also visit this link (CLICK HERE)
What kinds of car seats do you distribute?
We distribute a variety of infant, convertible and booster seats. We cannot guarantee brand or color. You must meet requirements to qualify. Email carseats@luriechildrens.org for more information.
Where can I get a car seat?
In order to receive a low-cost car seat, you must meet income requirements (typically Medicaid eligible families can receive them) AND attend a car seat workshop to learn details about installation and proper fit. You can sign up for one of our workshops by emailing carseats@luriechildrens.org or calling 312-227-7081. Please be aware that workshops fill up fast!
My baby is due in a few days and there is not space in any of your program’s workshops, where I can get a free or low-cost seat?
